In the margins part 1
the first decision
I was on a call for a writing group I am in. It’s with Cara Alwill & it’s for hot writers. I asked her how she decided on the topic for her last book, as like Cara, I don’t want my next book to be in the self-help category like Self Wise is. She asked me a question back, “What are you nervous to write about?”
I told her.
And just like that, I finally had the topic for my next book.
I sat with it for the next few days, thinking about how it would look and what it might include. I scribbled notes in my notebook, looked through my notes app, and I am pretty sure I have the final chapter already written. It’s all the other ones that go before it that I have to worry about.
I told my ex-boyfriend my idea and the title I had come up with. I was worried it sounded a bit too dramatic, but he said it was a good idea.
The next morning, I was at a women’s networking group, and I told them that I had decided on the title and topic. They laughed that it was an exclusive, as I hadn’t told anyone else. It actually felt pretty good to share, but also that means I have to write it now!
One thing I know for sure is that once a decision is made, no matter what it is, life is always better because you know what you’re doing. I might not know exactly what I am doing, but I know I am writing this book.
